Not candidates — both currently hold office. Their records are the most useful evidence available about what this programme does when it stops being a manifesto.
The longest-serving independent in congressional history, and the reason a democratic socialist programme is speakable in American politics at all. Serving a fourth term through January 2031.
Sworn in January 2026 after running on fare-free buses, a rent freeze and municipal groceries. The clearest current test of whether a socialist affordability programme survives contact with governing.
Support is not agreement on everything. Where one of these campaigns takes a position the research here contradicts, that gets written up the same as anything else — being on this page buys no exemption from the filing standard.
